It was a wonderful mild week with the local green wattles starting to bloom. A relief after last week with everynight going below -3 and frost hanging around till  9:30.

A perfect day in Canberra: crisp clear air, bright sunshine and warm (for winter), t-shirt and light jacket weather...
but its going to drop to -3 tonight.

Canberra sky

Last week was perfect back burning weather: very cold and no wind. There was a slight smokey smell the whole week and it felt as though you where tasting air as much as breathing it. The up side is that we had some beautiful sunsets.

Melbourne skies

Lots of dramatic skies over Melbourne as Victoria and the Murray River floods.

The cheery trees are blooming but it's still really cold and grey, not much of a spring and not good picnic weather. Haico and I are off to the mountains to walk from onsen to onsen through snow.

Spring is almost here

Warmer days now and plum blossoms flowering. Trees are still bare and the sky is often grey. Asakusa temple on a day when I was riding the metro to find mechanised bird sounds. For the metro line change there you have to leave the station and walk through the temple.
